Summary:
QBIC devices require access to a Network Time Protocol (NTP) server to display the accurate time. This article explains how to configure NTP access for QBIC devices.
Description:
QBIC devices, such as digital signage displays, require accurate time to display content correctly within DS application. To ensure accurate time, QBIC devices use an NTP server to synchronize their clocks. By default, QBIC devices use the NTP server located at time.android.com.
However, if your QBIC devices are unable to access time.android.com or if you have an internal NTP server, you can configure your devices to use a different NTP server.
To configure NTP access for your QBIC devices:
- Determine the IP address or hostname of the NTP server you want to use. You can use a public NTP server or an internal server if available.
- Connect to your QBIC device using the remote management tool or do directly on device.
- In the device settings or configuration interface, navigate to the "Date and Time" or "Clock" settings.
- Look for a setting related to NTP or time synchronization.
- Enter the IP address or hostname of your NTP server in the appropriate field.
- Save your settings and reboot the device to apply the changes.
If your QBIC devices are unable to access an NTP server, they may display an incorrect time, which can affect the display of content and scheduling of events. Ensure that your devices have access to a reliable NTP server to ensure accurate time display.
Note: QBIC recommends using time.android.com as the NTP server for their devices. If you are using an internal NTP server, ensure that it is configured correctly and is accessible from your QBIC devices.
