Warning message in upgrading to RC 3.8

 

Symptom

You might encounter the following message when upgrading to Resource Central (RC) 3.8 from older version:

Cause

This message shows up because RC 3.8 installer cannot stop the running Sync service of the existing RC version. Basically, the installer sends a request to Windows to stop the existing Sync service, but sometimes Windows cannot stop the services which are running for heavy operations.

 

Workaround

1. Open Task Manager and stop the running Sync service:
