Symptoms
When the user accesses Resource Finder from within Outlook, a script error is reported.
Cause
This issue is caused by a mismatch in configuration between Resource Finder and Resource Central.
Resolution
The configuration of Resource Central web application must be synchronized with the Resource Finder configuration.
Resource Central:
Log into Resource Central backend as system user, and navigate to Database node and then choose sql. Enter the select statement “select * from dbversion” and press the run button above.
Please verify that the value “ApplicationURL” uses FQDN of the server or hostheader configured for the Resource Central web site. If this value is incorrect, then you must do the following.
- Access Resource Central backend using FQDN or hostheader name in the link in your browser when you access it.
- Log in as system user.
- Click the basic button, and hit save button at the top without changing anything.
- Go back and check that the “Applicationurl” value has changed.
Resource Finder:
For older versions before RC 3.8
When you activate Resource Finder from within Outlook for the first time, you will encounter a configuration dialog, where you must define the Resource Central website URL.
Here you must be careful to use the exact same URL as is defined in the “ApplicationURL” value from Resource Central backend. Once the Resource Finder add-in is running, the only way to modify this is through Windows registry. Depending on the Windows version and method of installation this URL can be located in one of the following locations:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Add-On Products\ResourceCentral]
"ResourceCentralURL"="http://Servername/resourcecentral"
"LookAndFeel"="Normal"
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Add-On Products\ResourceCentral]
"ResourceCentralURL"="http:// Servername/resourcecentral"
"LookAndFeel"="Normal"
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Add-On Products\ResourceCentral] "ResourceCentralURL"="http:// Servername/resourcecentral"
"LookAndFeel"="Normal"
For RC 3.8+
In RC 3.8, Add-in setting data are stored in the settings.XML file. Its location is as follows:
- Anyone: C:\ProgramData\Add-On Products\Resource Central\Add-in
- Only me: C:\Users\
Open the settings.XML file, look for the key and make sure the link here is the same URL as defined in the “ApplicationURL” value from Resource Central backend:
Note: Please notice that you must close and reopen Outlook for any changes to take effect.
